The London Museum Docklands has one of the few permanent galleries in the country dedicated to the British trade of enslaved Africans - 'London, Sugar and Slavery: 1600 - Present'. The gallery tells the stories of some of the people affected by the slave trade, Mary prince and Olaudah Equiano being two such characters. I was asked to create a number of portraits of them for use in KS2 resources. I also delivered a series of illustrations of local landmarks. The museum then used these images to create a map that teachers could use to prompt discussion.
